loved receiving my first box but i think my fur baby loved it even more!! she just loves her toy! everything was packaged perfectly. can't wait to see what future boxes have in store!
I absolutely loved my first box! It was packaged so well. The dog toys = fantastic and the goodies were the best. I did enjoy the omnibus and that it was an author a) I wasn’t familiar with b) wasn’t the same freaking books all the other subs are doing
While i love the concept of this box, for the price is really fell short.
I love that you highlight indie authors and did an omnibus. Lota of indie authors have smaller books so I thought that was an awesome way to highlight those kind of series
I felt the tote while well made, was just lacking. For the FIRST human merch item it didnt feel themed after the book or something. It felt like a branded advertisement item with the logo and name of the box bigger than anything.
And the dog toy was the most disappointing. For the like $10 price tag it was poorly constructed, low quality bias tape around the edges that had very visible lose stitching. I got two of the same toy (which is fine because I know one was just extra gift) and they both had the quality issues. The toy didnt feel special or custom at all and didnt match the book vibe or even fantasy vibe besides being purple. And then I reverse image searched it and found the exact toy on five below, ali express, ali baba and other places for $3-$5. So clearly it was a bulk ordered item.
I also felt, while technically pretty, the design of the book was lacking. That stained glass purple book design has been done countless times as a collector of books. And to not have art for the end papers for this price is honestly not OK. I did like that the failing was well done, the edges crisp anx well printed, the colored covers throughout the book and that it was signed.
The art prints are stunning though. Love the artist who did those and would love to see you work more with them! But the prints being vellum was odd because there was no instructions on where to put them in the book as an overlay, and they also didnt fit in the book even if that was the intention and had about half a cm sticking out.
I will stay subbed for a few months at the full box level to see if you make changes. But I am very tempted to go down to book only or just unsubscribe if the book designs dont improve.
But right now at this price point, which is higher than any other box on the market in this category that provides book themed merch as well, it is not worth the price

We also hear you on the areas that fell short. The quality concerns with the dog toy are especially important to us, and we’re already making changes to our pet merchandise and working with new vendors moving forward. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the tote, endpapers, overlays, and overall book design. Our upcoming editions have continued to evolve as we’ve learned from our first production.
We know we’re asking subscribers to trust a brand that is still very new, and at our price point, we understand that the experience needs to feel worth it. We don't take that trust lightly.

I thought the box was huge for what’s in it but pretty! The book was amazing and my dog loved the toy! The plastic book cases were ok and the cute books were cute. Not something I would really use.

We believe the “plastic book case” you’re referring to is the protective foam case around the book. That’s actually included specifically to help protect the Special Edition from damage while it’s making its way to you, rather than being an item intended for use afterward.
We also appreciate the feedback on the box size and the additional bookish items. We’re still growing and refining each box, so hearing what our subscribers love and what they could do without, really helps us as we plan future boxes.
